NATIONAL PHYSIOTHERAPY MONTH

During Physiotherapy month, we would like to enlighten you about this profession which is sometimes still not fully understood by the public.

Why physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy helps anyone with problems affecting the function of the musculo-skeletal system.  This therapy is a specialty used in the world of sport and physical fitness.

How does it work ?
Our physiotherapists use different techniques to treat you, such as manual therapy, sport therapy and healing through exercise, etc.

What are the results ?
Our patients will be able to improve their equilibrium, their endurance, their strength and coordination so that they can be more active in their daily live.

What are the reasons patients turn to physiotherapy?
Here are a few examples, among many:  Arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, epicondylitis, after effects of fractures, sprains or luxation, etc.

Who pays for the treatment ?
In the vast majority of cases, your collective or private insurance will reimburse the cost of treatments in physiotherapy, osteopathy, massotherapy and certain other treatments.  You must pay after each visit accompanied by the medical reference (original according to your company) to be reimbursed.

To benefit from physiotherapy and to get answers to your questions, please contact us at www.actionsportphysio.com under FAQ or write to us at info@actionsportphysio.com

Treat those nagging injuries

Do you exercise regularly? Have you had an injury that dates back a couple of weeks or months that still bothers you? If you exercise regularly or had a previous injury, you might have some nagging pains or injuries that bother you on a regular basis. Now is a good time to have them checked out.

You exercise regularly for a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes we push our bodies a little too much and we get the occasional aches and pains. These aches and pains generally go away but sometimes they linger for weeks or months. Injuries or pain that lingers is a sign or symptom that shouldn’t be ignored even if it is only mild. Pain can alter functional biomechanical mouvement that can lead to undo stress on joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons. Most nagging type pains or injuries are the result of overuse, repetitive stress or a minor accident to muscles or tendons. They result in pain due to swelling and inflammation. Many turn to Over-The-Counter medications like Tylenol and Advil to help control the pain and inflammation.
